Michigan's unemployment rate is 10.6% and number 1 in the united states. My career search was fairly easy and I have not yet found a job for the project. There are not many "regular jobs" that relate to civil engineering so it is more difficult to find one. Though finding a job is more tough for me, finding my career was very quick and I found it within five minutes. I believe that it is hardy to find jobs in Michigan do to the unemployment rate.

There are only a few different things that I need to complete on my portfolio. The main thing that I still need to complete is my resume which is almost finished. I also need to write professional write ups for 2 of my 3 work sample pieces. The only other thing I really need to put on my portfolio is the job reference picture that lets employers know that I have references available upon request. The last thing I really need to do on my portfolio is get a job application to staple it to my rubric. These are the things that I need to complete on my portfolio by Friday. If I had a good kid I would not check there Facebook account. If my kid was a good student in school there would be no reason to have to check his/her account. If I were suspisious about my kid's activities I might periodically check there account.I believe in personal space so thats what I would give my kids unless they showed me otherwise. All in all I would not check my kids facebook account unless I felt I had to. If I had 20% of my school time to do what I wanted, I would do a few things. The first thing I would do would be to finish any assignments that I have not yet complete. After I made sure that was complete I would finish any projects I have and/or any homework. Once my main work is done I would do something that benefits me and my classes. Overall there are many productive things I could do if I had 20% free time at school. I believe that the closest job related to my civil engineering career would be a Lowe's or Home Depot worker. Though it really is not that similar it can relate to civil engineering a little bit. First, you have to help people out and show them designs of constructions they might want for their project. Another similarity is that you are constantly working with people and you need to know math because you are constantly working with it. All in all I believe a Lowe's or Home Depot worker is the most similar/related job to my career. The author of this article is Wei Du by msnbc.com. The title of this article is Job candidates getting tripped up by Facebook. The article is about people who cannot get jobs because of the things they are putting on social networks. People are not able to get jobs that they applied for because of the stupid and dumb stuff they are posting on social media networks. An example of this is the young women psychiatrist putting inappropriate pictures on Facebook. According to the march survey 35% or more employing managers look on applicants social media profiles before hiring. The lesson is do not put things on the internet that you do not wont the whole world to see. I agree with Van Allen and believe that people should not get hired if they have inappropriate things on there social media profile. If it is a bad thing that they are putting on there then it should not be on the internet anyway. Employers will continue to do this anyway so you might as well get used to it and not put inappropriate things on the internet. This relates to me and my generation because it will affect us for the rest of our lives. If you have a social media account keep it clean because it will affect you in the future. All in all only put things on the internet that you are willing the whole world to see. The information of this article will benefit me in the future in a few different ways. This teaches me not to put things on the internet that I do not want everyone to see. I believe that everyone can learn from this and not put dumb things online. Having no social media profile can also benefit you from the problem all together. The overall lesson from this article is to be smart about what you put on and do online. Diligence - careful and persistent work or effort Corporation- a company or group of people authorized to act as a single entity (legally a person) and recognized as such in law. I do not personally have an online presence on the internet. Though I have a twitter and instigram they do not appear on the internet when I search my name. In Google images none of my pictures come up but a few of my friends pictures do. Even though I don't come up on the internet, a few people that have the same name as me do. All in all I do not have a big online footprint on the internet but i hope that I can have some good things about my self on the internet in the future. I believe that submitting permit applications to the government as a civil engineer would be my most annoying task. I believe that this task would be most annoying for a few different reasons. I feel that I would have to submit applications to a bunch of different groups to get the permits I need to start the work. I feel that this task would take a lot of work and time to be able to accomplish. Mainly I feel that it will be a long task because of how long it will take and that it will be a lot of work to get. One career that I am specifically interested in is engineering. I believe that I am interested in this career for a few different reasons. First, most engineers that i hear of are pretty successful in life and seem to like and be satisfied were there job. I also like to problem solve and come up with solutions to problems. I also know that engineering jobs pay very good so this is a perfect fit for me. Though I know a little bit about engineering there is still so much that I need to learn about it before I go in to that career field. This is why I believe I have chosen engineering for a career that i am interested in. The title of this current event is ten things i wish I would have known before I went in to the real world. The author of this article is Chris Widener. This story is about how the real world is and how life really is not fair at all. In the article it explains the many challenges that people go threw in life. The fact of the matter is that life is not fair in all sorts of different ways. In life people will let you down and not help you out like you thought they would. Everyone needs to know how to cope with these ten things because it is essential to a good life. I very much agree with this article and Chris Widener in all sorts of different ways. I personally can connect to the point that life is not fair what so ever. I show up to every single basketball practice but a lot of times still get less playing time then some kids who show up only 2-3 times a week to practice but play twice the amount of time I do. I have had many other experiences about life not being fair but you get threw it and move on. Most of all people need to learn to cope with these struggles in order to be a successful person. I can use this information in the future to benefit me in many different ways. Most of all this article taught me the many different types of struggles and concerns that are in life. The next time I get caught in these struggles I will know how to be able to deal with the situation. This article very much apply 's to the chapter of choosing a career, and coping with the measures and steps I will have to overcome to be able to get there. All in all this article relates to me and the whole rest of the world in all sorts of ways. Strive- make great efforts to achieve or obtain something.
