In the Gift Great Leaders Give by Roy Vaden, he explains that people do not need help being realistic, what they need is help to believe in themselves and to chase their dreams. By supporting and pushing those to do this they will ultimately have more confidence which will lead to greater and greater success. In Burning and Building Bridges by Scott Mabry he explains that leaders accelerate both beginnings and endings. We have to live for the day but plan for tomorrow and be able to adjust to the circumstances accordingly. After reading both blog posts I believe that leadership is a lifelong characteristic that you have to continue to build and grow.
Of the 13 items, 3 stood out to me that I could really connect with. In order to be successful you have to give up the unhealthy habits. You will never find success by eating/drinking poorly, and not taking care of your body. in order to become successful we must get rid of and stop using excuses. Excuses will get you no where but the wrong direction. The final point that really stood out to me is that we have to get rid of our fixed mindsets. If we broaden our mind and what we can do then we can accomplish anything we work at in life. The quote "On your last day on earth, the person you became, will meet the person you could of become." This quote is very powerful because we have to chase what we want in life now before its to late because life is short. I believe we can all learn from this article because there are many great points on how to lead a path to success.
After someone tears you down, there is several ways you can pick yourself back up. Forgiving yourself in whatever you did is a major key to finding happiness and success once again. I highly agree because if you don't forgive yourself you will never be able to pick yourself back up. I also think we should have empathy for the other party because not everyone always means what they say when they are angry. I see this in every day life and people have to learn to forgive others and move on. I highly believe in Elanor Roosevelt's quote because we do gain strength courage and confidence in every experience we are able to overcome whether it is good or bad. We are ready to take on the next challenge because we have been able to get through experiences no matter how severe they are. Jae Kim's story inspired me because even though he felt out of place he decided to be himself and interact as anyone would because everyone is different. He overcame his fear and picked himself back up to become stronger and more successful.
