The title of this story is The Farmer’s Donkey. The author of this story is unknown. The story is about a farmer’s donkey that fell into a well and was going to be buried alive to prevent future loses. The farmer was sure the donkey was going to be way too big to be able to get out. The farmer invited the neighbors to help him fill the well. After a few shovel loads of dirt the farmer was very surprised to find that the donkey just shook the dirt off and just took a step up and did this until he finally made it to the top of the well.
This story connects to me in many different ways. This shows that you will fall down in life but you have to get up and keep pushing. I agree with the moral of the story because everyone will have problems in life but you have to get through them and keep moving on. I can especially relate to this when it comes to sports. When I am doing poor and or not winning I have to get up and keep going no matter what to do my personal best and come back in the game.
I will use this information in the future to benefit me in a few different ways. This persuades me a lot to get up and keep working no matter what because life will throw dirt and try to bury me but I need to keep trying and never give up! Next time if something similar or related happens to me I can always remember this story for motivation.
Astonished - greatly surprised or impressed; amazed.
Trotted - (with reference to a horse or other quadruped) proceed or cause to proceed at a pace faster than a walk, lifting each diagonal pair of legs alternately.
